Central Raiders Baseball gets a 6-2 victory over Dassel-Cokato today in Norwood. Jackson Paumen pitched a complete game gem after surrendering two in the first he settling in and pitched well. The Raiders now get the loser of Breck vs. Holy Family this Saturday in Cologne.

The Central Raiders Baseball team dropped an extra inning game tonight at Rockford by a score of 3-2. They stay alive in Section play but have to battle through the losers bracket. On Thursday they will play host to Dassel Cokato at 4:30 at the Norwood Sports Complex.

CONGRATULATIONS to Morgan Alar, Britney Smith, and Destiny Henke for being named to the 2024 MRC All-Conference Softball Team and to Abby Venske - Honorable Mention.
Morgan Alar - Junior - Centerfield
Morgan Alar batted .429 in conference play and .509 overall in the regular season. The slap hitter was a force on the base paths, stealing 24 bases, and scoring 22 runs on the season. She is also a super dependable outfielder that can cover a lot of ground. Morgan is the daughter of Chris and Sally Alar.
Britney Smith - Senior - SS
Britney Smith started the year off a little slow hitting-wise, but then really took off about halfway through the season. After the first eight games of the season, she was batting .167. For the last 11 regular season games she started to erupt, batting .605 with 23 hits in 39 plate appearances (38 AB). On the year she has a batting average of .435, four doubles, one triple, one HR, 21 RBI, and 13 runs. Her defense has been just as stellar, being an
absolute anchor for the team on defense, making the routine and incredible plays consistently. Britney is the daughter of David and Cheri Smith.
Destiny Henke - Sophomore - Pitcher
Destiny Henke was a rock at pitcher this year. She was the main reason the team was able to stay in games this year when the bats weren't working. She started 11 games this year facing most of the team’s tougher opponents, and finished with a 3.75 ERA. Destiny is the daughter of Steve and Jessica Henke.

Abby Venske - Senior - 3B





Memorial Day is a time to reflect on those who made the ultimate sacrifice in service of our country and our freedom.

Austin Dent - Senior - Pitcher
Austin Dent had a very good year at the plate and on the mound. Whenever he pitched, the team had a chance to win. He gave up only two runs in his 21 innings pitched in conference play. He ended MRC play with a 2-1 W-L record and a sparkling 0.67 ERA. He gave up only 10 hits in conference action. He also hit .257 and led the team with 10 RBI. Austin will play baseball at SMSU in Marshall next year. He is the son of Kaite and Mike Dent from
Green Isle.
Ben Heuer - Senior - Outfield
Ben Heuer had a great year at the plate for the Raiders. He led the team in BA at .457 and also in hits with 16 and a .513 on-base percentage. He really enjoys the game and played four different positions for the team. Ben plans on attending Ridgewater College in Willmar hoping to play baseball. Ben is the son of Jen and Paul Heuer of Norwood.
Jackson Paumen - Junior - Pitcher/OF
Jackson Paumen was a perfect 3-0 on the mound for the Raiders pitching in four games. He had a 3.38 ERA. At the plate, he also had a very successful year. He hit .333 and was second on the team in hits and first in RBI. He hit two home runs. Jackson was a solid pitcher on the mound and fielder from the outfield. Jackson is the son of Jerry and Steph Pauman.
