It’s almost the end of a year, which means 2025-26 kindergarten registration is just a couple of months away! Students in Kindergarten at Central Elementary get to have a lot of fun during their school day as they learn lots of new things.
Central Elementary celebrated students who completed an at-home reading challenge with a Glow Party! 210 students in grades K-5 completed the challenge and were able to color and make art projects using highlighters and black lights in one room, as well as play and dance in the gym with glow sticks. They built some great reading habits and had a ball!

The Raider Field House will be closed on Thursday and Friday this week for Thanksgiving! You will be able to get in your post turkey exercise again on Saturday.
Auditions for Central's One Act play "Sweep Under Rug" will be on Tuesday, Dec. 3 from 3:45 - 5:45 in the Auditorium. Students in grades 7 - 12 are welcome to join us for the group audition. Actors and crew members are needed! Go to Google Classroom code: tp37hxm for acting scenes.
"Sweep Under Rug" envisions a future where struggling families are placed in the "Bobby Sue" program. A "Bobby Sue" is a guardian of sorts, someone who warns against missteps and guides its owners along the "appropriate" path in life.
But what happens when people want to think for themselves????
Mr. Schrupp and Mr. Evenski in fourth grade have been collaborating with the elementary STEAM teacher, Mrs. Kreuser, on an exciting unit about inventions! Students have been learning the fascinating stories of famous inventors in STEAM and tackled a hands-on challenge in their Mental Yoga sessions: designing and building a car powered solely by a balloon.
Students learned about the mechanics of wheels and axles, constructed sturdy car bodies, and experimented with innovative ways to attach their "engine" (the balloon) to maximize its potential energy. It’s been an engaging and creative project that encourages problem-solving, collaboration, and a deeper understanding of engineering concepts.
You may not need a reminder about this, but just in case, there will be no school Nov. 27-29 for our Thanksgiving Break. Have a great time with family and friends!

-Sunday 12 - 5 p.m.

Central Public Schools has a strong entry in the NYA Chamber's window decorating contest this year thanks to Braelyn, Katelyn, Lily , Ava, and Grace. Judging takes place tomorrow so with them luck!

The preschool students are learning about measurement this week and had a special guest reader yesterday, Mr.Schrupp! Mr. Schrupp read the students a book about a giant teddy bear and then measured how tall Mr. Schrupp is compared to some of our preschool friends. Some might say Mr. Schrupp is a giant compared to some of the students! The height differences are displayed in the Preschool wing hallway at the Elementary School.
Mr. Hunt and Mrs. Hammers' Raidertimes participated in the 2 Be Continued Program over the last eight weeks. 2 Be Continued's mission is to increase awareness of suicide prevention, mental health & wellness through advocacy, education, and outreach. All 43 10th graders received their certification and are prepared to make a difference in the culture at Central.

Central Schools presents, "The Internet is Distract...Oh Look a Kitten!" A comedy about using the internet to avoid doing schoolwork and how watching too many cat videos may be allowing the internet to creep in and take over our brains. Shows are in the high school auditorium.
