Superintendent Schochenmaier

Central Public Schools is proud to share the news that Superintendent Timothy Schochenmaier has been recognized as the Region 9 Administrator of Excellence by the Minnesota Association of School Administrators (MASA).

Established in February 1985 by the MASA Board of Directors, the Administrator of Excellence award recognizes outstanding administrators across the nine MASA regions. Each year, one administrator from each region is chosen to represent leadership excellence within the MASA community. The selected individual is someone who embodies a commitment to progressive change, strong communication skills, a willingness to take risks, and sets high expectations for themselves and others.

Timothy Schochenmaier has embodied these qualities with a positive attitude and continued passion during his time as Superintendent of Central Public Schools. With achievements including the implementation of an operating levy and sustainable budget model, a building bond to address aging facilities, and student-focused programming, Schochenmair has been a force for change and community in the district. His leadership style and dedication to educational excellence, coupled with his innovative approach to problem-solving, has had a profound impact on both students and staff in the communities served by the district including Norwood Young America, Cologne, Hamburg, and the surrounding area. Central Public Schools is one of the smaller districts in MASA Region 9, which also includes school districts in Anoka, Carver, Dakota, Hennepin, Ramsey, Scott and Washington counties.

The selection criteria for the Administrator of Excellence award includes being a practicing administrator and an active member of MASA, demonstrating professional and organizational leadership within their respective region, providing service to MASA through participation in district, regional, and state functions, and exhibiting active involvement in educational and community affairs. Additionally, nominees must be regarded as role models by their MASA colleagues.

In congratulating Superintendent Schochenmaier on this achievement, Sara Eischens, Chair of the Central Public School’s Board, shared her sentiments, stating, "Tim’s visionary leadership has propelled Central Public Schools to new heights of excellence. His passion for innovation and dedication to our students' success have made a profound impact on our district. We are privileged to have him at the helm, guiding us toward a brighter future."

Mr. Schochenmaier's contributions to education extend beyond the confines of Central Public Schools. He has actively engaged in educational and community affairs, serving as a mentor and a leader to those around him in advocating and engaging around the important work of public schools.

"I am deeply honored to receive this prestigious award from MASA,” said Schochenmaier. “The fact that a district our size is being recognized when compared to other greater metro area districts is a testament to the dedication and hard work of the entire Central Public Schools community. I look forward to continuing our mission of educational excellence and making a positive impact in the lives of our students!"

Central Public Schools congratulates Timothy Schochenmaier on this well-deserved honor and applauds his unwavering commitment to educational excellence!
