In a close-knit community, trust is the glue that binds us. It fosters collaboration, empowerment, and a sense of belonging. The preschool students proudly lead the pledge of allegiance and handed out thank you cards to our local vets during the Veteran’s Day celebration. The smiles that flooded the gymnasium were priceless as the young children showed respect and pride for our veterans. At Community Education, we understand the importance of intergenerational connections that build trust and we are committed to upholding it in all aspects of our programs and services.
Our school building belongs to the community and another way we build trusting relationships is through collaborating with organizations who need space to gather. Groups like 4-H, Boy Scouts, and Living Rock Church host meetings, activities, and Sunday Services in the evening and on weekends. Living Rock church sets up for services every Sunday with a committed group of volunteers who haul chairs and equipment into the elementary school and set up for an opportunity to gather and worship. They repeat this every week. It is quite a feat and speaks volumes about the amazing people in this community.
Recently the Minnesota Extension 4 H group held a Day of Dabble at the Elementary School. The school was filled with groups of students and parents who learned how to sew and make cheese, among many other activities. I had to take a second look as I passed through the atrium in the elementary school during the Day of Dabble, as I saw Lama’s in the yard outside the school! What a wonderful day! We were happy to provide the facilities to make it happen. We value the trust you place in us, Community Education is here for you.
