Early Childhood Family Education (ECFE)

What is ECFE?

Early Childhood Family Education (ECFE) is a program for all Minnesota families with children between the ages of birth to kindergarten entrance. We offer weekly classes and special events designed especially for families. The program is offered through Minnesota public school districts and is based on the idea that the family provides a child’s first and most significant learning environment and parents are a child’s first and most important teachers.

ECFE works to strengthen families. ECFE’s goal is to enhance the ability of all parents and other family members to provide the best possible environment for their child’s learning and growth.

What our Families are Saying

"For the last four years, our daughter has loved going to weekly ECFE classes! We enjoyed doing the fun thematic activities that were all planned for us. It was also great to talk to other adults about the joys and challenges of parenting, while she was able to play with other kids. As parents of an only child, we loved that she had the opportunity to learn how to interact with other kids by sharing and taking turns - something that she doesn’t have to do at home."

"ECFE is a place where my kids and I can grow closer together while participating in a variety of activities where they can have fun while they learn. I have valued the parent time because it comes from research and it helps me become a better parent. ECFE is a wonderful place to connect and grow with your child!"
