Central Public Community Education understands that our services and programs are needed during these uncharted times. We have received and heard your request for continued programs. We are planning to meet community needs by offering some summer programs while following guidelines from Minnesota Department Health and the Minnesota Department of Education.

We will be designing our childcare, enrichment classes and recreational opportunities to meet the new health and safety guidelines. This will include the following and maybe updated and changed as new guidelines are developed.

*Health Screening for all staff and students.

*Students will be dropped at the front door and parents not allowed into the classroom areas.

*Smaller classes, with a total of 10 per site.

*When feasible, activities will be held outside or in large spaces.

*Possible on-line classes.

*Individual supplies, reducing need for sharing materials. (example, one basketball per person)

*Increased cleaning of classroom prior to and after classes.

*Social distancing procedures will be followed.

As new activity and classes are set up they will be updated on this page, under flyers on the Community Education website, and also on our registration site at www.dist108ce.org. Please check back daily for program offerings and updates.

Kids Co. Childcare: Opening June 3rd 6am – 6pm Fee: $24/day

Kids co. childcare is open to all families in need of care in order to go to work. Workers in Tier one and two will be given preference to care if the program fills. We are limited in space this year due to the 10 people per space regulation and may have to turn families away if we do not have the space or staff to meet these guidelines. All children will need to pass a health screening each day to attend.

Summer Tutoring Program

Individualized tutoring helps students in boosting their confidence, strengthening their subject comprehension, and building their learning skills. The reason why many parents choose their children to be tutored varies, but many may find their children struggling at school, and with school not in session the last two months and summer upon us, feel their child will lose a lot of what they had learned during the school year. Tutor will be able to give undivided attention to their student unlike crowded classroom situations, they help students who are struggling at school face those challenges, and they help students staying on track during their school breaks.

The goal of tutoring is to help students establish the skills required at school and make them independent learners. But tutoring is not just about being better at schoolwork, it has so many other benefits like improving study and work habits, improving social and behavioral skills, and boosting attitude and confidence.

We have two licensed and experienced Central Elementary teachers ready to help your child succeed. We have in-person options and also tutoring done online so your child can learn from the comforts of their home.

The cost is $16 for each 30-minute lesson.
