Yesterday the MSHSL voted on Fall sports and the guidelines that will be used.  Winter and Spring sports will largely be based on the return to school and how the Fall sports go.

Here is what we know:

7-12 Boys & Girls Cross Country will start on August 17th

  • No Scrimmages
  • No events with more than 3 teams
  • Reduction in weeks by 20% to 9 weeks
  • Reduction in contests by 30% to 7 meets
  • Max of 1-2 meets per week

7-12 Boys & Girls Soccer will start on August 17th

  • No Scrimmages
  • Reduction in weeks by 20% to 9 weeks
  • Reduction in contests by 30% to 11 games
  • Max of 1-2 games per week

Football and Volleyball will move to an additional Spring season between Winter sports and the traditional Spring sports.

*** Spring sports will most likely start sometime around May and extend into the summer.

  • Inside activities will NOT be allowed to have fans at this time.
  • If a school is ever required to go to distance learning, sports will immediately be moved into a virtual activity.
  • At this time, no decisions have been made on State Tournaments or a culminating event.

The Activities Office will get the online registration set up ASAP.  You will be notified via email when it is ready.

The only student-athletes who will need physicals will be 7th graders or first-time participants.

I know that this is difficult information to comprehend for most of us. We will do our best to provide safe and fun activities for our students this year. Contact Ron Erpenbach at 467-7201 if you have any questions.
